Martin has been playing drums for nearly 40 years. You can only imagine what kind of monster chops he has stored up in
that archive of his. Influenced heavily by the odd-time rhythms of such groups as Yes, Rush, Genesis, and Jethro Tull.
he knows how to intersperse quick odd-time passages and fills into a standard 4/4 beat that will blow your mind. He knows
where to play simple straight beats to keep to feet tapping and the folks dancing, but every once in a while, he will pull off
something that even makes the band do an about face, and look at him and smile.
Martin has been performing in clubs since he was 13 with his father pushing him to strive for excellence in everything he did. Wait 'til
you see his drum solo - it will BLOW you away. Martin has played with more bands than we can even fit on this page, so we won't
bother trying. Come see why this cat is quite possibly the best drummer in the entire Altanta area...heck, we'd even venture to say
the entire Southeast!
A sign painter by trade, Martin prefers keeping life in general "old school". There are very few sign artists nowdays that actually use
paint and true artistry of hand painting, as opposed to computer generated graphics, and as much as he claims it's a "dying breed", he manages
to keep his plate slap full with work. Until you see what Martin can do with a paintbrush, you will not understand the level to which he takes his
artistry and musicality. Check out
A Lone Sign Painter and see what this man is capable of.
Martin has been quoted as saying "I live the life I love - and I love the life I live!!", and based on his no-frills business ethics on the job, and
his stylistic interpretations of the classic rock hits on drums, he's about right on target for his quote.
